I was born Dorothy Ione, April 24, 1929 in Milton Free water, Oregon. Parents were Albert Monroe Wehr and Lucille Nonemaker Wehr. My writing Poems started in Washington Grade school, Port Angeles, Washington, with my 4th grade teacher Mrs. Ina Olson, who said, I had a rare gift to write in "Blank Verse," and I should never stop writing. It was fun and with my awards in penmanship and art, I later added "Ornamental Writing" and made my own cards with verses and decorations. Today it is called Aris and Crafts with Calligraphy. To me it was a way to give gifts without money--  something we had very little of after 1938. As you follow me through the ups all downs in life thru my poem book, I hope you will understand what has molded me into the person I am today. My brother and my son were my closest ties that sustained me through many years. The last 30 years my husband Bill joined their team. Without them and my faith I would not be able to have this dream of writing come true. Now with all our great families we share--I leave this book of poetry for grandchildren and generations to come.
